Pastor Paul's Bio
Paul Mickelsen came to Hope Chapel with his wife, Sherri, in January, 2008. In January, 2010, he accepted appointment as an elder, and in the spring of 2010 agreed to join the staff as an associate pastor. Later, his area of responsibility was defined as discipleship. This includes oversight of the small group ministry at Hope Chapel, called Life Groups, and the development of an adult Christian education plan. He and Sherri lead one of the Life Groups. He has a love for the word of God and helps with the preaching and teaching at Hope Chapel.
Paul began pastoral ministry in 1978, serving as associate minister in churches in north Phoenix and Fort Collins, Colorado. He planted a new church in Lafayette, Colorado, in 1988, and in north Peoria, Arizona, in 1999, before coming to Hope Chapel. He graduated from Vanguard University with a BA in Biblical Studies, and holds an MA in New Testament from Denver Seminary.
The Mickelsens make their home in Peoria. They have three adult daughters. Sherri is a teacher in a Peoria elementary school and Paul drives a school bus in addition to his role at the church.
