International Students (ISI)

International Students (ISI)
ISI is an American based ministry that reaches out to foreign students who visit the US for further education before returning to their own land. Hope Chapel is involved in a
reverse missions effort with students from The Thunderbird School of Global Business which currently has 250
students enrolled. The students have an average age of 26 years and are here for between one semester and two years.
In terms of missions effort this ministry is strategic because the students are nearby and speak English. Our main
focus is hospitality and friendship to young people who are eager to meet Americans and learn about our culture. Volunteers attend a two hour training and then are partnered with, and befriend a student by calling them once or twice a month and inviting them for an occasional meal or activity. The commitment is usually for the duration of the particular student’s stay.
These students often return to be placed in positions of influence within government or the business community in their own country. Many are being won for Christ and taking back the message of God’s love to their own nation. Hope Chapel considers it a privilege to be a part of these young people’s lives.
