Life Groups is part of the Small Groups ministry of Hope Chapel, ministering to the needs of everyday people. Our goal is to bring people together to talk about life, to grow together and to learn to live with meaning and purpose. We follow the Small Groups / Home Church Model of ministry, meaning we discuss rather than preach, we meet in homes rather than church buildings, and we emphasize life application of Biblical principles rather than theology. We are relaxed, casual, relational, inclusive and our emphasis is authenticity.

We look beyond the weekly meetings and see a "24 / 7" community of peers being formed who are committed to Christ and to each other: people who are available for each other and who are willing to make sacrifices for each other.

Our style of ministry follows the Small Group or Home Church model of ministry. This means we normally meet in homes, we are casual and relaxed, we learn and grow through discussion and interaction with others in the process, and we seek to create a "24 / 7" sense of community. We believe that life becomes most meaningful when we learn to be interdependent. We believe that learning to grow healthy, godly relationships with others makes life far more exciting, meaningful, and worthwhile.

Our small groups are based on affinity and rooted in the Biblical principle that although we are different members (individual gifts, likes, dislikes, personality, etc.) we are all part of the same body (1Cor. 12:14-20).  It is within these groups that our life becomes evident and we learn how to most effectively love each other, love God and introduce him to others.

The vision for our small group ministry is best reflected in the following excerpt from our small group leadership guide:

A cell group is a group of eight to fifteen people who form a community to experience the love of God, grow in relationship with others, and reach out to those who don't know Christ. Sharing our lives and hearts with one another in the presence of Jesus will knit us together into a strong fabric that cannot be broken. The strength of the individual is no longer the only factor determining his/her walk with God. The rest of the cell undergirds each member with prayer, encouragement and vision for the lost to keep them growing in Christ.

Jesus in the midst is the strength of the group. Jesus is the only one who can provide the power and vision to walk out the Christian life. When the cell comes together for edification, the focus is on experiencing Jesus in every part of the meeting.
