The Birhor People of Orissa, India

Flag of India

The Birhor People of Orissa are among some of the poorest in India and live in jungle villages. They are known as the “monkey people” because the major source of meat for subsistence comes from the monkeys that are wild and plentiful in the jungle.

We sponsor  children at $30.00 per month which provides them with food, clothing and all personal needs. They receive public schooling but also receive  education from a small group of teachers and mentors. When they arrive at the house the children will be taught all social skills beginning with personal hygiene and a sense of modesty.

Because of your support, these children have a hope for the future. Thank you!
